Bank Statement OCR
Most bank statements already carry a text layer. Reading it directly beats OCR on every digit.

Your PDF is processed in memory and discarded after the response. We do not store statements.
Text PDFs do not need OCR
Most bank statements downloaded from a bank are text PDFs. Stmt2Sheet reads the text layer directly, which is faster and avoids OCR errors such as a misread minus sign or a 5 read as an 8.
How to tell a text PDF from a scan
Open the PDF and try to select an amount. If you can highlight and copy the digits, it is a text PDF and Stmt2Sheet will read it. If the whole page selects as one picture, it is a scan.
Get the text PDF from your bank
Log in to online banking and download the statement from the eStatements or documents section. Card issuers offer the same download. Avoid printing and re-scanning; that strips the text layer.
Scanned statements
Stmt2Sheet does not OCR scans or phone photos. When a PDF has no text layer, the converter says so immediately and no pages are counted.
Questions
Does Stmt2Sheet OCR scanned PDFs?
No. It converts text-based PDFs, which is how banks issue downloadable statements.
Is a rejected scan counted against my pages?
No. Pages are counted only when rows are extracted.
Is the PDF stored?
No. It is processed in memory for the request and is not written to storage by Stmt2Sheet.
Why not just OCR everything?
OCR guesses characters from pixels. A text PDF carries the exact numbers your bank printed, so the export matches the statement.
