Bank Statement to Tally
Vouchers your Tally import can read.
Ready.
| Date | Description | Debit | Credit | Amount | Balance |

Your PDF is processed in memory and discarded after the response. We do not store statements.
What the XML contains
A Tally import envelope with one bank voucher per transaction: date, narration, bank ledger and an offset ledger. Amounts are signed so money in and money out land on the correct side.
Map the ledgers
The export uses Bank and Suspense as placeholders. In Tally, map the bank ledger to the actual bank account and the offset to the right expense, income or party ledger. Review each voucher before you post it.
Why Tally XML
Tally's XML import is a structured alternative to typing vouchers. It keeps the date and narration from the statement and gives you a repeatable file for the period.
Check before import
Confirm the company, the period and the bank ledger. Import a small sample first, then the full file. Keep the PDF and the XML together for the audit trail.
Questions
Does the XML use my ledger names?
It uses Bank and Suspense placeholders. Map them in Tally or adjust the file before import.
Is Tally XML the same as Tally's native backup?
No. It is an import envelope for vouchers, not a company backup.
Can I import a credit card statement?
The same rows work, but map the bank ledger to the credit card liability account.
What if a row is missing?
Review the preview first. Unusual layouts may need a quick manual correction.
